Welcome to the Aloqa Content Publisher API

If you are a publisher with location-relevant content (a business directory, travel site, events / movies / entertainment related site, social network, dating site or have any other relevant content useful for people on the go) you now have the option to create a “channel” on Aloqa instead of having to spend tons of money building and supporting mobile applications for the many phones out there. By following the five steps below, you can create a channel in a matter of hours and let all your users know how to get access to that content at a small fraction of the effort and cost.

(If you have signed up already, you can just sign in at http://publisher.aloqa.com/provider/account/login.htm)

Lets take an example:

This is George. He loves foosball (table-top soccer) and is the leader of the club “Table Top Heroes”. He has a whole list of clubs, bars, colleges, and sports centers where people can go to play table soccer. He wants to make this database available on mobile phones but doesn't want to spend tens of thousands of dollars building apps for multiple phones. So he decides to just create a channel on Aloqa so that anyone wanting to find a place to play foosball can simply see it on their phone without having to search no matter where they are.

George follows these 5 simple steps to publish his content through Aloqa:

1. Sign up

Publishing your content on Aloqa requires an Aloqa Publisher Account.
Please sign up for an Aloqa content publisher account at http://publisher.aloqa.com/provider/account/signup.htm

2. Build a Feed

Build a Feed that can be fetched by the Aloqa servers.

3. Create a Channel

Create your own channel on Aloqa:

  • using our Web Interface (this is the easiest way)
  • Coming soon: using our Rest-API (for advanced features)

4. Preview your Channel

Preview what your channel will look like on your own phone.

Before you publish your content, we would like you to preview what your channel will look like on Aloqa. This lets you make adjustments and fine tune the way your content looks and is presented.

5. Publish to Channel Store

Submit your channel to the Aloqa Channel Store:

When you are satisfied with the channel preview, you can let us know you are done by submitting the channel for publishing. We will take a quick look just to ensure the content is formatted right, and there isn't anything inappropriate in the content. Once this is done, the channel will be live in the Aloqa channel store and you can invite all your users to view it on Aloqa.
